EAA CEO and Chairman Jack J. Pelton said about Airventure 2017: "I believe it’s the best Airventure week that I’ve ever seen." WBParts agrees! We are so grateful to have been part of this annual celebration for homebuilders, FBOs, MROs, and all aircraft enthusiasts!
The excitement continues to grow each year. About 590,000 people attended the event which is a 5 percent increase over last year. There were 881 commercial exhibitors represented at Airventure including WBParts along with top notch manufacturers such as RANS Designs, Inc and Sonex Aircraft, LLC. It was exciting to see so many RANS and Sonex aircraft represented in the fly-in in addition to the new offerings that were highlighted at their displays.
In the WBParts display we featured our SmartKits and WBEX App. We heard many FBOs and MROs comment on how easy it was to get their hanger organized and stay on top of the common hardware they use every day. They also commented on the easy to use re-order app for their smart phone.
We also were thankful to hear in person feedback that we hear online year round which is that WBParts carries hard to find parts that no other suppliers carry. And ordering from us is easy, too, because of our multi-part search tool.
But not all the good parts of the event happened in our display booth. There were many amazing sights to see and hear all over Oshkosh. Here are some highlights:
• We were grateful to hear FAA Administrator Michael Huerta speak at the Meet the Administrator forum during his last year in that role.
• We celebrated the 25th year of the Young Eagles program.
• We had a moment of silence at the EAA Memorial Wall on the EAA Airventure Oshkosh grounds.
• We heard from the Apollo Astronauts Team as we looked back at the early days of the space program.
Even though there was a lot of fascinating information to take in throughout the week and there were beautiful aircraft to examine and airshows to see, the community that is nurtured through Airventure is what WBParts enjoys the most. We are so thankful to meet in person the MROs and FBOs who rely on our products to help them stay organized and well-stocked so they can do their job efficiently. It’s great to see people at our booth meet each other and talk with each other about what projects they are working on and the challenges that they face in the aircraft business. Community being built and nurtured before our very eyes is what fuels Airventure with a kind of energy that satisfies our flight-loving souls!
You don’t need to wait until next year’s Airventure to be part of the WBParts community. Check out our Facebook page and feel free to comment or ask questions. Read our blog or, if you are in the Palm Bay, Florida area, call and ask for a tour of our facility! If you have never been to Airventure, save the date for next year July 23-29, 2018. We would love to see you there!
